Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: Our hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.

We are closed on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day.

Q: What is Compendium’s privacy policy?

Q: Which gift shows do you attend?
A: We attend gift shows biannually in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Toronto, and New York City. Our showroom locations can be found here.

Q: What does Compendium do to be environmentally friendly?
A: Because being environmentally conscious is an important value at Compendium, all of our gifts and books are printed with soy inks, and we also use FSC®-certified paper for every greeting card. Our Positively Green, Frank & Funny, and In Other Words… greeting cards are all printed at a press that gets its energy from wind power.

Q: How does Compendium support charitable organizations?
A: Giving back to our community is an important part of our company values, and we support the efforts of various nonprofit organizations. We donate 10% of the profits from our Positively Green cards to organizations working to protect the environment, and a portion of the profits from our In Other Words… cards are donated to organizations that support literacy. For the month of October, we also donate 10% of all retail sales from our website,, to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Q: How do I submit a donation request?

Requests are granted on a case-by-case basis and depend on available inventory and resources. We receive a high volume of requests and carefully consider each one. After receiving your request, a customer service representative will reach out to you.

Q: What do I need to do to become a wholesale customer?
A: If you are a retailer interested in carrying Compendium products, please complete this form and we will email you shortly. To open a new wholesale account, customers must have a valid business license with their state and a reseller certificate number, if applicable. Please note that all customer accounts are subject to approval by Compendium.


Q: What type of products does Compendium create?
A: Compendium specializes in gift books, guest books, children’s books, notebooks and journals, greeting cards, boxed note cards, social stationery, and pop-open cards.

Q: Can you tailor or customize any of your products for my business?
A: Yes, we can add customized elements to many of our products when ordered in large quantities. Depending on your project’s needs, the customization will be completed in-house or through a business partner.

Customizations we handle in-house depend on the particular product, but generally start at 5,000 units for books and 50,000 units for loose ThoughtFulls pop-open cards.

Q: Can I order Compendium products wholesale to sell in my own store?
A: Yes! Compendium has a variety of representative groups and your sales contact will depend on your geographical location. Please visit this page to find your local rep group.

A: Our local Compendium sales reps are business advisors, trend experts, marketing specialists, and an extra set of hands to a busy retailer. Q: Do you print a paper catalog?
A: Yes, we print a wholesale catalog. We also have a digital version of the catalog available within our Wholesale Portal. If you are a current Compendium wholesale customer, you should automatically receive a printed copy twice a year, in December and June.

Q: Can I place an order over the phone?
A: Your local Compendium sales representative will be happy to assist you with wholesale orders over the phone. Please visit this page to locate contact information for your local rep.

Q: How does online ordering work?
A: You can place your orders through our website here. Please fill out the form for “New Users,” or log in as a “Returning User” if you’ve placed an online order with us before. Your local Compendium sales rep will always receive commission on your orders, and you will both receive a copy of your order.

Q: Is it possible to change an order after it’s submitted online? (For example, “I just placed an order and would like to add/remove items from the order.” Or, “I would like to have the order shipped overnight.”)
A: If you have just placed your order and need to make a change, please email us immediately at or call us at 800.914.3327, extension 0 so we can see if the order can be pulled from processing.

We process orders very quickly, so if this does happen customer service can work with you to re-route your order back to us, or have a return label sent if it has already been delivered.

Q: Do you offer quantity or bulk discounts?
A: We encourage our wholesale customers to get the most out of every dollar they spend with our profitable buying programs! With BonusBuys, you buy 7 and get 1 FREE, and with SuperBuys, you buy 13 and get 3 FREE. Please contact your local sales rep or login online to place your BonusBuy and SuperBuy orders.

If you are located elsewhere internationally and would like to order, please email with an order that meets the following requirements: $2,000 minimum, payment of credit card or wire transfer, and shipping to a freight forwarder in the U.S.


Q: Which payment methods do you accept?
A: Compendium accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, or you may pay with a prepaid check.

You may also apply for Net 30 terms by submitting a Compendium account application, which can be found here.

Q: How do credits work?
A: Please allow 3–5 business days for the product to ship back to our warehouse and be checked in, and an additional 2–3 business days for your credit to be processed. To receive credit, products must be in resalable condition, free of damage, and without price stickers.

If you paid by credit card, refunds will automatically be credited back to the credit card on file.

If you pay on Net 30 terms, your credit will be put on your account and a copy of the credit will be sent to you in the mail for you to use towards a future order. Please email to apply a credit to an invoice.

Q: What are your standard shipping methods and rates?
A: We ship all orders via ground service, unless otherwise noted on orders, or otherwise specified in a customer routing guide/vendor manual. Rates are based on package weight and destination. We attempt to process and ship all orders in 3–5 business days.

Q: What kind of shipping programs does Compendium offer?
A: All U.S. wholesale customers receive $5 flat-rate shipping on every order they place. We ship all orders via ground service, unless otherwise noted on orders, or otherwise specified in a customer routing guide/vendor manual. We attempt to process and ship all orders in 3–5 business days.

International customers or those who have routing guides with specific requirements are not eligible for $5 flat-rate shipping, due to the special handling required in these circumstances. Please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you with more specific shipping related questions you may have.

Q: How can I track my order?
A: If you placed your order online, you should have automatically received an email from us confirming your order. We process and ship all orders within 3–5 business days from our warehouses in Everett, Washington, and Louisville, Kentucky. Once your order is shipped, you will receive a second email with your shipping confirmation attached, which will contain a tracking number.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: We accept returns within 90 days of purchase. A return label can be filled out here. We will issue a full credit on all products returned in resalable condition.*

Products returned to us in new condition-similar to the condition that you would require if you received them in your next shipment-will be credited for the full purchase price upon receipt of the goods at our warehouse.

Products not eligible for return:

  • Products that exceed 90 days from receipt
  • Products that are/were stickered
  • Products with visible signs of damage (dents, dings, marks, fading, etc.)

*Items that are used, bent, or otherwise damaged will not be eligible for credit. Additionally, items must not have price sticker residue. Damaged items will not be returned or shipped back to the customer after they’ve been sent to our warehouse, but will instead be immediately donated.
